Won’t be watching any dramas for a while (Currently watching JE TV programs). I wanted to keep this journal updated, so I decided to write a review on music.
This entry took me a long time to write, so I hope you read it to the end, onegaishimasu ^.^
Kanjani8′s second full album. Comes with two discs. The second disc have solo songs for each member. The album has three editions. Two limited editions: one comes with a DVD of a short movie and packages in a DVD case, and the other has seven cards (featuring each members) and a bonus track in the second disc. The regular edition…doesn’t come with anything extra.
Disc 1
01. Big Sky Blues
A song that can make you jump and shout. It’s a good into song, giving you energy. I really like this song. This is one of the two favorite songs out of this album.
02. Speedy Wonder
A song about forgetting your lover’s birthday and asks for that person’s forgiveness. The music has a panic feeling. You don’t know what to do to make that person forgive you. You blame yourself for this mistake.
03. Oosaka Obachan ROCK (type LAK J2)
A song about middle aged women. This one is slower than the original version. The talking part is different. (Forgot what they talk about.) I like the original one more. I like songs that have faster beats. But this one isn’t so bad.
04. Futari no Namida Ame
Rivals with Osaka Rainy Blues because they both talks about rain and a tragic romance, and both have the genre of music that is different from their other usual genres (one is tango and the other is blues). I like the melody of this song immediately when I first listen to it. Just like Osaka Rainy Blues XD
05. Goujou ni GO!
A song that pushes you to go forward. Even though I don’t understand the whole song, the lyrics sounds pretty good. It’s best to listen to when you need to cheer up.
06. Great Escapt ~Daidasso~
Escaping loneliness. The music sounds like a person trying sneak out of the scene. This is my other favorite. It is energetic. It’s good to listen to when you’re trying to hurry up.
07. Sayonara wa Itsumo
A slow song. But it has strong music, my favorite type. The song sounds sad.
08. Jimoto no Ousama
A song about Osaka. It’s cheerful. Sounds like the feeling of walking down the street of Osaka.
09. Zukkoke Otokomichi
“Kibatteko-ze, yey yey yey~” Sounds kinda like a cheering song. The chorus part is catchy. I didn’t like the song at first, but the more I listened to it, the more it grows onto you. I really like the dance. Gives you more motivation. The music video is…weird…but it shows the crackiness in the group ^.^ According to Yoko, this PV is the most expensive to make.
10. Energy
An energetic song, hence, the title XD The person you like is giving you the energy. I like it when they shout out the letters of the title name. It feels like releasing your energy.
11. Tabi no Hate ni wa
The music is fast, but the lyrics are negative. It sounds like you still doesn’t forgot your ex-lover. This song is ok. It sounds kinda strange in a way..
12. Arigatou.
A thank you song, hence, the title XD I want to say thank you to you. This song has a touchy and warm feeling. It’s a good song to sing to someone whom you are grateful to.
13. Kanfuu Fighting
A Chinese-ish song. It has a feeling of the dragons dancing. Yoko says two Chinese words at the beginning and the end of the song. Feels weird and interesting hearing him say these. I really like this song. There is a dance to it. I want to learn it… It’s more enjoyable when dance while singing the song. I think I like the PV for this one the most out of all the Kanjani8 PVs. Men in black suits dancing XD
Disc 2
01. Ruwa (Shibutani Subaru)
A love song. Sounds like the desire to embrace the lover. It’s an enka, I think. Subaru’s powerful high voice fits well in this kind of songs.
02. Watashi Kagami (Yasuda Shouta)
The song that received many praises from Yoko XD Thinking about your lover. I like this song. Mainly because of the music XD The rockish type but with lots of guitar. Yasuda plays one of the guitars ^.^
03. MAGIC WORD ~Boku nari no…~ (Maruyama Ryuuhei)
Sounds like a kids’ song ^.^’ It’s a cheerful, catchy song that makes you want to sing along. The lyrics include his favorite words: “Pa~n” and “tekisa-su.” I really like the song. The lyrist is named HANNYA MAN. According to Maruyama’s story, all we know is that he had dinner with Maruyama and spoke to him casually…
04. Mamoritai (Ookura Tadayoshi)
Wanting to protect. A slow love song. It doesn’t sound that bad. (Doesn’t really like slow songs…) Maybe it’s because of Ookura’s low voice. (…but likes deep voices.)
05. WONDER BOY (Yokoyama Yuu)
Half rap and half singing, my favorite kind of song ^.^ This is the only song that isn’t written by the singer, but Yoko requests an energetic song that he can dance and sing along with the audience. This song makes Yoko a narcissist.. “Aren’t I cool?” lol I really like this song though; Yoko has good tastes XD
06. Forward (Murakami Shingo)
Very, very, very catchy. Makes you want to sing and dance along. I love it. It’s cheerful, telling you not to give up. My favorite part is, “One time / Two times / Three times / Everybody scream!!” I want to scream. But can’t scream in the streets and at home :p Oh, the lyrist’s name is capitão, lol XD
07. stereo (Nishikido Ryou)
The song sounds fragile. Can’t stop thinking about the lover, who has left you. It has rock-ish music, me like ^.^
Movie
The members cosplay as game characters. They come out of the paintings. The king and minister (named Gonzaresu) meet the magician (named Laicho the Second, who feels like he can fly XD), the hunter (Tony), the philosopher (Smith), the Vagabond (Gurus), and the valiant (Tadayoshi XD). After the intros, Smith points out there’s a treasure. The king becomes angry because he’s supposed to say that line. He throws his crown in the hallway. Suddenly, laser beams appear! The characters try to avoid the beams and get to the treasure.
This movie is very entertaining. They do acrobatic and other stuff to avoid the laser beams. It’s funny when they accidentally touch the beams XD And when they find out what’s inside the treasure, fufufu XD The ending is surprising and funny, leaving you a roar of laughter afterwords.
This is the one and only time the members dressed up in those costumes. They make the movie exclusively for the people who buy the limited edition.
You’re not watching any dramas??
(okay that seems like quite a bit already
)
You’re still watching Hana Kimi though, right??
What other TV shows besides Ya3, Mucha Buri and Tsuukai Everyday?
Mm… actually there are TWO limited editions and one regular edition. Limited Edition Type A is the one with the DVD and Type B is the one with the cards and the bonus track.
It’s awesome that the regular edition also has TWO discs though!!
(usually regular editions only include 1 disc… as far as I know.. which is unfair…)
I’ve listened more to the solo tracks.
But yeah..
Futari no Namida Ame rivals Osaka Rainy Blues?
Now that you mention it.. I also got the same feel from them!!
Yeah.. and liking them immediately
Traditional songs?? What do you mean by that??
I’m always so confused when it comes to genres… I thought ORB was blues.. hence the name.:D FNNA like tango.. But I don’t know.. the intro of ORB sounds a bit like jazz..
Zukkoke Otokomichi does sound like a cheering song. It usually raises my spirits as well.
Love the “Dragon part” about Kanfuu Fighting!!
The dance looks great!! Heh.. Leah Dizon seemed to have learned that one..
My favourites are Maru’s and Yoko’s solos. XDD They’re soo uplifting and funny.
I like how they seem to somehow relate to the singers XD Hahah…. I thought Yoko asking if he’s cool, was like wanting for confirmation, because of insecurity and need for attention. XDD (like a kid. XD)
Also since it’s Tacchon’s solo.. I’m probably biased as well..
(but I like the English parts in solos..)
Not too much of a fan of slow songs either.. I like Mamoritai, though.. yeah, maybe because of the voice.
The rest need to grow on me a little…
Subaru’s solo was enka??? Eeeh…? (just when I thought I knew what enka was…)
My fave part in Hina’s solo is the English as well.
Ah.. the film… I’ve watched this a few times already. The first time I watched it, I didn’t even know the members all that well.. so I was confused.. ESPECIALLY in the end..
It looks like they’re improvising and esp. at the beginning it seems like someone just came up with the idea of shooting a random film.

But it’s soooo much fun. XD the names..
Ah… and randomness.. Afro??
And everything was Yasu’s fault? Why???
The costumes RULE!! (They kind of reflect the members’ personalities as well..:D
)
Oh yeah, forgot about that. But I keep up with the subs so…
(And Jani-Ben ^.^) I also wanted to watch YOUtachi! but can’t find certain episodes..
*Edits post*
Yea, I’m happy that the regular edition has two discs.
Ooh, I did too! Until I started to fall in love with the first disc even more.. Now, I like the whole thing equally ^.^
When listened to Futari no Namida Ame for the first time, Osaka Rainy Blues immediately popped up in my head. Mostly because they both talk about the rain…
You’re better than I am XD Hm…maybe tango… Tangojazz :p
“Dragon ga, maifurite!” ^.^ Yea, the dance looks so good!
Hehe..
I love Maru’s and Yoko’s solos the most too!!! Yea, I love that too! Feels like singing and cheering along with them.
It can be that too.
Hehe, yea, you like Ookura ^.^
Hm…not so sure… Subaru’s solo sounds like an old song..
I had the same feeling too, the first time I watched the film XD (Well, I probably knew a bit more…) I was like, “Why are there two of them?”
Yea, the randomness rocks! The afro part weird me out… LOL
Yea, I don’t get that either…
Yes, yes!! Well, except for Maru’s…er…bottoms… (So true!)
Yay! XD (Though yeah.. and it won’t be that very long till it ends..) I’m still have a very vague idea of what YOUtachi is.. (ah.. need to catch up with Jani-Ben.. space issues.. but I thought you had decided not to watch it anymore??)
Though I didn’t buy it. But still..
Heh.. I think I’ve listened most to the songs on the first disc up to Futari no Namida Ame XDD
Yup, yup. That’s true. Oh yeah! And I forgot to flail about Tacchon having solo PARTS in that song! (and even one more than SUBARU.. ) I guess his low voice suits those kinds of songs well.

Hahahah.. as if. XDD I don’t know anything.. besides what is clearly pop and clearly heavy metal or something like that. XD
Tangojazz?
I don’t know how many songs can be even clearly classified under a specific genre.. and many genres have similarities with each other.. (like jazz and blues..)
Doragon ga, maiorite! Doragon ga, odoridasu!” *sings along and randomly waves hands*
I can never learn anything that requires some sort of coordination.
Yay!! I like those immediately as well!! Or at least Maru’s.
Yoko’s grew on me a little later.
XD Whatever the perception.
XDD And you will constantly be reminded of that.,
Hmm.. yeah Subaru’s solo does kind of sound like “not that modern”
I should just give trying to tell what song is what
(you prob. knew quite a lot more.. I think I was just interested in the cosplay. XD Well. I don’t remember that well
) *laughs * I got why there were two of them, but to link them to he ones in the costumes was hard.
Haha.. but a vagabond is like Maru (at least the type he was
) Stiilll yeah.. maybe he could have worn something more there.. XDD
Hm… In YOUtachi, they do segments with the guests. I don’t remember much now, but they talk a lot.
Eh? No. I’ve never mentioned about not watching JaniBen anymore..
That’s what I did with Arashi’s Time album XD I forgot which track I stopped.. You just need time and chance to listen to the rest more.
Yea, if the music has more low notes, then Ookura will be given more chance on singing the lines.
It’s hard to describe why it’s the genre… Pop is…when you can feel the beat more than the music…? (Had never described the genre before.)
Yea, tango and jazz XD
“…Dragon ga hi wo fuita, moero, KanFu Fighting~~” Washa!! XD
The dance is kinda hard. The part before the dragon part has different coordinations..
Ahh, mine is the opposite XD I liked Yoko’s the first time listening to it, then Maru’s followed a bit later.
I don’t mind. I can understand anyway ^.^
I don’t know the names of other genres of old songs…
Yea, a vagabond is like him. Just part of the costume that weirds me out.
I remember reading that it was more focused on juniors.. I haven’t actually watched a single ep though..
I also listened up to Firefly… and the sing after that
yeah, I could continue as well..
I remember you did…
*searches*:
Because of Hana Kimi
http://iceblueaya.livejournal.com/265651.html?nc=9
Which is GOOD!! The songs should have more low notes!
I guess.. with some you just know without explaining. The beat? Sounds more like techno.
*continues to wave her hands randomly*
I can’t even remember the movements for it.. (juts the “dragon part” sort of kind of)
I’ll never learn any dance… that’s for sure.
*laughs* But the end result is the same.
That’s good!
You can remind me about Maru too as much as you want.
I’ll give up trying… about now.
True, true.. I got used to the costume in the end though. XD
It’d be funnier if you can understand the conversations. I get the general idea of the segments, but don’t really understand what they’re say that’s funny.
Ahh, should have been more detailed. Didn’t mean that I’ll stop watching it forever. But after Hana Kimi ends, I’ll be able to have room to download more TV shows.
I used to listen up to Taiyou no Sekai, one song over XD Carry On is the first “slow” song in the album (Not so fond of slow songs) XD
The dragon part is pretty easy. One movement repeats 3 times. Also, can easily remember because the shapes of your hands look like dragons’ heads, the dragons roar and dance, similar to the words of the lyrics in that part of the song.
Yep, which is still cool ^^
Orange! Orange!!! XD
are you japanese? just asking.
Nope, I’m not.
