The life of a famous general, Minamoto Kuro Yoshitsune, starting from the time when he was an infant to the end of his life. It was during the the end of Heian and the beginning of the Kamakura period, 1159-1189. It focused on the war between the Taira (Heian) and the Minamoto (Genji).
