Based on a popular manga. A girl named Fujioka Haruhi is an average person but studies at an elite high school. One day, she goes into a classroom to study quietly. That room, however, is where a host club is held. Afterwards, she accidentally breaks an expensive vase. She pays back for it by working in the host club crossdressing as a host.
Each episode is half an hour long. It seems fine for this type of series. I wish that there are more episodes though.
The drama is close to the manga. Each story in each episode features a story from the manga. For example, the second episode is about the students getting physical exams. And the third episode centers around Ayame, a student that doesn’t like Tamaki. I think it’s fun watching scenes from the manga coming to real life.
I’m not happy with Yamamoto Yuusuke being chosen to be Tamaki but he plays the character well. The actor of Kyouya is also good. But the best actors are the twins. Even though they have the advantage because the characters are twins, they play their roles the closest to the original work. I also like Nekozawa.
The actor I don’t like is the one for Honey. He is too tall and not that cute. I think they should get a kid to do Honey’s role or something.
The humor is the same as the manga, and it isn’t cheesy. Tamaki is dumb and Haruhi is a tsukkomi. There are light CG effects but they aren’t exaggerated. The drama isn’t so bad.
