Kanjani8′s fourth full length album. This time, they include their own original movie.
First press special edition: A special box set. Contains DVD of the movie and another DVD of the movie’s making.
First press edition: DVD of the movie and a special footage called Director’s Gift.
Regular edition: It has only 2 CDs. The extra CD contains all the members’ solo songs and an additional one sang by the group.
I find the album interesting because the whole thing centers around one movie. The solo songs also match the characters. I like the instrumentals but it seems like they make the length of the CD too short. I like most of the songs here.
Disc 1
01 Oriental Surfer
Opening instrumental music. It sounds like the chasing kind of opening theme.
02 Monogram
An easy and simple song about playing with the baby. In the movie, the characters don’t know his name or anything about him since they found him on the ground. I like the lyrics. My most favorite part is: “I hear the throbbing sound of the tiny life. I really don’t want to let (you – the baby) go.” I also like the part: “I want to warmly protect you endlessly. Isn’t this what you call ‘love’?”
03 Nakanaide Boku no Music
“Please don’t cry, my music.” It’s a lively song about moving freely forward. This is my most favorite song out of the album. I love the performance at the concert where the group dances on the staircase.
04 Baby Baby
The song is kinda sad. Feeling attached to the baby but will eventually have to let him go since he has to return to his real family. The song is the ballad band kind.
05 Life ~Me no Mae ni Mukou e~
“Life: Moving forward in front of our eyes.” It is a fierce band song. It pushes you to keep going no matter what. This is one of my most favorite song out of the group.
06 Back Off
Instrumental. Sounds like currently at the middle of the mission.
07 Negai
A slow song. This isn’t my cup of tea so sorry, can’t comment XD;
08 Horori Melody
I didn’t like it at first but because it’s catchy, I started to like it after several listening. It’s about cheering the one you love because you love him/her.
09 Wonderful World!!
It has a bit of rapping. The image: Walking down the street and cheering up the people around the town. To be honest, I like the chorus part but not the rest…
10 realize
Instrumental. Sounds like chilling at the pub. But it can sound like other scenerios.
11 BOY
Whether good or bad, just keep flying to the future. A fast song. It’s an ok song. The whole thing sounds the same..
12 Animal Magic
Very jazzy. It sounds like sending someone back where he/she originally belongs to.
13 Kyou☆Jou☆Shou!!
Jazzy dance song. It gets people fire up. I really like Ookura’s drums in the interlude.
Disc 2
01 Monologue (Nishikido Ryo)
Sounds like his usual fast songs, except a bit lonelier. The song matches with his character. Trying to become stronger or something.
02 Kick (Maruyama Ryuuhei)
Maru asks someone to write the song instead of himself because he wants the song to fit more to his character. An upbeat song. Basically, kick yourself and dash forward.
03 Revolver (Shibutani Subaru)
It’s punk rock. Subaru’s character’s main weapon is a gun.
04 Trickster (Yokoyama Yuu)
It sounds interesting. It sounds like going on a dark mission. A trickster doing his job.
05 Dear… (Murakami Shingo)
Ballad pop. I like it but it sounds sad at the same time. Trying to get the one you like to like you back.
06 TOPOP (Yasuda Shouta)
The title is interesting because Yasu’s character in the movie is named Toppo. It’s a cheerful dance song. It makes you energetic and forget about sad moments. This is my most favorite out of all solos. I also like the dance.
07 Kitto Shiawase ga Kimi wo Motteru (Ookura Tadayoshi)
“Surely, you are holding happiness.” A slow song. I like Ookura’s voice but this isn’t my cup of tea..
08 “tte!!!!!!!”
Hyped up rock. Written by Yasu and Ookura and also composed by Yasu. Trying to tell you one thing, “Without you, I won’t be here,” but feeling frustrated because can’t get the words out to the other party. I like the song because it lets out stress.
Movie
Seven guys own a pub house. One day, they find an abandoned baby on the road and decides to take care of him until they find his real parents.
There isn’t much to the story. The movie has a lot of eye-candy. The story is serious but there is some humor and the baby to light things up. The guys can fight. Each has his own weapon (Subaru has a gun, Maru has a stick, etc). Then, there are scenes where they take care of the baby. They go shopping for him and play with him. I love the shopping part~
The background plays songs from the album. The songs match the scenes.
